Undergraduate Estimated Cost of Attendance

United States (U.S.) Universities are required by law to verify that students entering the U.S. with student visas have adequate financial resources to meet the expenses of their program of study. This will also be verified by the U.S. Department of State Consular Official during the student visa application. F-1 Students must demonstrate they have funding for two academic semesters of enrollment.  J-1 students must demonstrate their funding exists for the duration of their academic program.

The Office of International Education develops the estimated cost of attendance listed on the I-20/DS-2019 form based on actual tuition and fee rates for 12 credit hours of enrollment at a non-resident tuition rate each term. The estimates are developed by reviewing the following sources: the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, the Bursar's Office, and the University System of Georgia (USG). Estimates include tuition, fees, health insurance, books, and living expenses. The estimated expenses listed on an I-20/DS-2019 form are for I-20/DS-2019 form issuance purposes only and they do not represent the actual charges to the student's account. Students are encouraged to review their bills and the websites referenced for the actual cost of attendance.

In order to complete your I-20/DS-2019 form request, you will need to show proof of sufficient funds to cover the Total Required amount as shown below. Students starting in the late short summer term are required to show additional tuition expenses as shown. Please review the guidance on our OIE Financial Document Requirements page for acceptable documentation types and requirements.
