Applications for 12-month Post-Completion OPT will not be impacted by this regulation change.
1. Students graduating soon:
- Students can apply for Post-Completion OPT up to 90 days before graduation.
- When it comes time to extend the Post-Completion OPT, if the student has a STEM OPT extension eligible degree, the student will receive the 24-month STEM OPT extension. How to determine if my major is STEM eligible.
- The student will need to follow the new rules and filing processes when applying for the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
