iStart Troubleshooting

I can’t login to iStart

Your login for iStart.gatech.edu is the same as your GT username/password combination (used for Buzzport, mail.gatech.edu, etc). Incoming students can refer to the GT Accounts for Incoming Students resource from the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to get started with your GT credentials.

STEP #1: Refer to OIT's GT Account resource for help identifying your GT username, activating your GT account, and resetting your password, or using DUO two-Factor Authentication.
STEP #2: If you already know your GT credentials and need to change them, access Passport at https://passport.gatech.edu/ to do so. For instructions, see OIT's GT Account resource
STEP #3: If you are still unable to log into iStart using your GT credentials, try logging into BuzzPort and your GT Outlook Email account using the credentials.
STEP # 4: If you cannot log into other GT services in addition to iStart, you will need to connect with OIT for support. Please ensure that when reaching out to OIT, you indicate that you are seeking help with issues related to your GT username, GT password, or DUO. If you only indicate that you need iStart access, OIT will direct your inquiry to OIE where we will ask that you connect back with OIT regarding the access issue.
