Future Other Sponsored Students

We are excited to welcome you to the Georgia Tech Atlanta Campus in the coming weeks.  The Office of International Education (OIE) would like to help you obtain the information that you need before you travel to the United States, after you arrive, and throughout your time at Georgia Tech.

OIE provides personalized administrative and advising services to Other Sponsored Students and their sponsoring agencies. We are proud to partner globally with sponsoring agencies to promote academic excellence, leadership, and cultural exchange.

We understand that your Fulbright advisors will be managing your J-1 immigration status but as your local International office we would like to complement their support and ask that all Fulbright students complete the Electronic Check-in. Please take time to browse all around our new webpage, but keep in mind that much of the information provided for F-1 and J-1 students applies only to student sponsored on Georgia Tech immigration forms. All of your immigration documents are maintained by your program sponsor, so you should contact your program officer with any questions about maintaining your J status.

OIE Check-in

Please review the information regarding Electronic Check-in. You will need to have scans of your Passport, DS-2019, I-94 card (front & back), and J-1 visa stamp. This can only be started once you have arrived in the U.S.

If your sponsor sends the OIE any materials including a check for your stipend, you will be notified by email when it has arrived and can pick up the check/arrival package at the OIE front desk anytime Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Fulbright Association, GA. Chapter-

The Fulbright Association has more than 60 chapters across the United States, all led and managed by members who reside locally. Chapters provide opportunities, through volunteer service, for continued involvement with the Fulbright program, with visiting Fulbrighters currently in the United States, and with fellow alumni.

When joining the Fulbright Association, you will be asked which chapter you would like to join or we will simply assign the nearest chapter to you. This does not require any additional funds, nor does it obligate you to attend functions, but all members must affiliate with a chapter.
